Ahwatukee is located in South Phoenix, Arizona. It is bordered by South Mountain Park and the Gila River Indian reservation. In 1921 the first home was built and in 1935 a women named Helen Brinton bought the home and named it Ahwatukee, (an Indian word which means "House of Dreams"). In 1971 land developers bought large acres of land along South Mountain and now Ahwatukee is one of the fastest growing areas in the Valley. The current population of Ahwatukee is approximately 85,000.

Ahwatukee Recreation
Ahwatukee is know for it's great golf courses, biking, and hiking trails. You can spend the day hiking on South Mountain or play a relaxing game of golf and one of the many fine golf courses.
